With a friendly new approach to latch hook, this workshop offers all the essentials for participants to create their very own latch hook badge inspired by the Peranakan culture! The workshop will begin with a tour of Peranakan shophouses,followed by a discussion of the design elements of these heritage buildings to create their own tile-inspired badges.

A Sort of Painting: Assemblage of Household Items

Experience how to incorporate everyday objects in your artworks, using household objects as “paints”. Learn about the art of assemblage inspired by local artist Leow Wei Li, and how it can be adopted as an approach to painting. We will be activating our awareness towards the visual elements of things around us and consider their potential as art materials.

The Great Lift Off: Solvent-transfer Printmaking

This workshop is designed to enhance our understanding of how prints are made, and how they relate to visual media like magazines. By learning about this alternative printing technique, particiapnt will create their own colored montage using images taken by local artist Ang Song Nian.
